Review: I found “30 Days of Night: Dark Days” to be just as interesting as the first “30 Days of Night” movie. So this was not a waste of time at all.

First, well it was a nice pace to see a change in scenery, compared to the first movie. Mind you, I am not saying that the Alaskan scenery was bad in that movie, but I welcomed this more urban setting open-heartedly.

As with the first movie, there was a continuous flow of action and suspense in this movie, and you were never left bored.

The people cast for this movie, performed well, and hats off for that. Although, there could have been more room for character-building, but then again this particular type of movie doesn really thrive on such. It is a good step away from the mass-produced stereotypical vampire movies, where they have to be oh-so-Gothic-and-deadly-romantic. Here the vampires are just bestial killers with a taste for human blood – as it should be. The vampires don ooze around throwing off semi-sexual lines and dress all seductively here, they simply hunt and kill, straight to the point.

I didn like the ending much, because it was so predictable. But there were some nice twists throughout the movie. I will not spoil it by saying what it is, but there are some nice touches to the story along the way.

And it is good to see there are still being made vampire movies for a more mature audience. Not everything has to be all flowery, teen-drama, with way too big hair, vampire-love-romance. You know what I am talking about.

“30 Days of Night: Dark Days” is a good choice for an evenings entertainment, especially if you like vampire movies, and have gotten past that annoying teenage-love-vampire-drama-media-circus that has been going on lately. So you can sink your teeth into this movie without having to root for either Team E or Team J.

30 Days of Night: Dark Days is a genuinely great movie– disappointing summer aside. It’s more refreshing, perhaps, due to the fact that this season has been so stark, but 30 Days of Night: Dark Days easily deserves praise all on its own merits rather than by lack of good competition.

This film was absolutely awesome. Already seen it three times. Loved the comics and this was the most satisfying adaptation I’ve ever seen mixed with the directors personal charm and tweaks. 30 Days of Night: Dark Days was just nice to watch and so fun to be a part of as an audience. LOVED IT.

The online video is worth it to see. the flick is so cool. It’s a strangely paced flick and suffers at times from tremendously long exposition and poorly contrived story lines that seem to be added to no doubt cultivate the storyline rather than the picture story that I wanted to see.
