Movie: A Tale of Two Sisters (2003)

Tagline: Our sorrow was conceived long before our birth
Trivia: Gianna Jun refused the role of Su-mi because she thought the script was too scary. Ironically, her next project was another horror film, Uninvited (2003), which was translated into English as “The Uninvited.” Ironically, “The Uninvited” is the title of the American remake of this film.
Goofs: Continuity: In the hospital scenes, there is no scar on the back of Su-mi’s hand.
“Two sisters who, after spending time in a mental institution, return to the home of their father and cruel stepmother. Once there, in addition to dealing with their stepmother’s obsessive and unbalanced ways, an interfering ghost also affects their recovery. Written by Anonymous”
A Tale of Two Sisters is a genuinely great movie– disappointing summer aside. It’s more refreshing, perhaps, due to the fact that this season has been so lacking, but A Tale of Two Sisters easily deserves praise all on its own merits rather than by lack of good competition.
The film A Tale of Two Sisters is worth it to watch. the A Tale of Two Sisters is so fantastic. It’s a strangely paced flick and suffers at times from very long exposition and poorly contrived story lines that seem to be added to no doubt develop the storyline rather than the A Tale of Two Sisters story that I wanted to see.
This flick was absolutely fantastic. Already seen it three times. Loved the comics and this was the most satisfying adaptation I’ve ever seen mixed with the directors personal charm and tweaks. A Tale of Two Sisters was just nice to watch and so fun to be a part of as an audience. LOVED IT.
